In this article we will review The Silver Chair by Clive Lewis.
Book Plot
“The Silver Chair” is a novel by C.S. Lewis and is the fourth book in the “Chronicles of Narnia” series. It tells the story of Eustace Scrubb and his classmate Jill Pole, who are transported to Narnia by Aslan to help rescue Prince Rilian, the heir to the throne of Narnia, who has been missing for years. They are aided in their quest by a marsh-wiggle named Puddleglum, and together they journey through the Underworld, encountering various obstacles and enemies along the way. Eventually, they find Prince Rilian, who has been enchanted by the evil Queen of the Underworld, and they are able to break the spell and return him to Narnia. The novel explores themes of temptation, faith, and the nature of evil.

The Silver Chair Review
One of my other preferred Narnia books is The Silver Chair, which I find to be a darker and more distinct tale within the series. It introduces Eustace once again and a new character named Jill Pole, who I believe is better written than the Pevensie girls. The standout character is Puddleglum, who despite his pessimism, shows true heroism. The story takes a somber turn as the children and Puddleglum embark on a rescue mission for a lost Prince, encountering Giants and an evil queen along the way. This book presents Narnia in a more mature and less friendly light compared to previous installments, adding depth to the series. Despite its shorter length, Lewis’ storytelling remains vibrant and captivating, leaving room for imagination. The Silver Chair is another example of Lewis’ skill at creating a rich and engaging world within the Narnia series.
