In this article we will review The Screwtape Letters by Clive Lewis.
Book Plot
“The Screwtape Letters” is a novel by C.S. Lewis and is a series of 31 letters written by a senior demon named Screwtape to his nephew, Wormwood, a younger and less experienced demon, charged with guiding a man called “the Patient” toward “Our Father Below” (Satan), and away from “the Enemy” (God). In the early letters of the book, Screwtape responds to the news that Wormwood is busy trying to tempt the patient to move away from God and embrace sin. Screwtape gives Wormwood advice on how to influence the patient in various small ways, thereby encouraging the patient to move away from God and toward Satan. The novel explores themes of good and evil, the nature of humanity, and the relationship between God and the universe.

The Screwtape Letters Review
This book is beloved by me because it really encourages deep thought. It is written in the form of letters from a tempter named Screwtape to his nephew Wormwood, advising him on how to tempt a young man who becomes a Christian and falls in love with a Christian woman. The book focuses on the more subtle forms of sin such as vanity, pride, distraction, and insincerity rather than obvious sins. The tempters in the story do not care what sins are committed as long as they achieve their goal of leading people away from God. The book prompts readers to reflect on their own lives and the things that lead them away from a close relationship with God. C. S. Lewis has deeply considered the temptations that lead us astray and articulates them well in this book. It is impossible to read this book without considering its relevance to one’s own life.
